Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets forth the guidelines for acceptable use of Accurecord AI services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

⚠️ Critical: No PHI in Self-Serve Accounts

Users of self-serve / individual accounts are strictly prohibited from entering patient identifiers or Protected Health Information (PHI). PHI is only permitted in designated enterprise Platform accounts with an executed Business Associate Agreement. Violation of this restriction may result in immediate account suspension and deletion of data.

Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to use the services for any of the following:

1. Unlawful Activities

You may not use the services in any manner that violates any applicable law or regulation, including but not limited to privacy laws, healthcare regulations, intellectual property laws, or export control laws.

2. Unauthorized PHI (Self-Serve Accounts)

Do not enter, upload, or process any Protected Health Information or patient-identifiable data in self-serve accounts. This includes:

  • Patient names, addresses, or contact information
  • Medical record numbers or account numbers
  • Social Security numbers or other government identifiers
  • Dates of birth or dates of service
  • Any other information that could identify a patient when combined with health data

3. Harmful or Malicious Content

You may not upload, transmit, or distribute any content that contains viruses, malware, ransomware, or any other malicious code designed to harm, disable, or compromise the services or other users' systems.

4. Unauthorized Access or Security Circumvention

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the services, other accounts, or systems
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the services or any network
  • Breach or circumvent any authentication or security measures
  • Access data not intended for you or log into a server or account you are not authorized to access

5. Reverse Engineering

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or algorithms of the services or any AI models, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.

6. Competitive Use

You may not use the services to develop, train, or improve competing machine learning models, AI systems, or medical coding software.

7. Abusive or Excessive Use

You may not:

  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without authorization
  • Conduct activity that disrupts or interferes with the services
  • Overwhelm the services with excessive API calls or requests (rate limiting applies)
  • Resell or redistribute the services without authorization

8. Prohibited Content

You may not upload or transmit content that is:

  • Unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or pornographic
  • Infringing on intellectual property or privacy rights of others
  • Promoting violence, hate speech, or discrimination
  • Spam, phishing, or fraudulent content

9. Misuse of AI Features

You may not use AI-generated outputs from our services without appropriate human review and validation. The services are assistive tools, not replacements for professional judgment in medical coding or clinical decisions.

Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates this policy, including:

  • Removing or disabling access to content that violates this policy
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Reporting activities to law enforcement authorities
  • Taking legal action to recover costs and damages

Changes to This Policy

We may modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Your continued use of the services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
